New Delhi. India is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its independence with pomp (Independence Day 2021). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday hoisted the tricolor on the ramparts of the Red Fort after paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. America also participated in this celebration of India. US President Joe Biden has congratulated India on its Independence Day. Along with this, he has also mentioned Mahatma Gandhi.
US President Joe Biden said, ‘We must show the world that our two great and diverse democracies can work together for people everywhere. I wish everyone celebrating in India, in the US and around the world a safe and happy Indian Independence Day today.
Joe Biden further said, ‘On August 15, 1947, India made its long journey towards independence as shown by Mahatma Gandhi’s message of truth and non-violence. Our people-to-people ties, including a vibrant community of over 4 million Indian-Americans, have strengthened our partnership over the decades.
Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Sunday that the country is entering its 75th year of independence from today and the journey from here till 100 years of independence is the nectar of India’s creation. He said that this goal has to be achieved with the help of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and everyone’s efforts. In his address from the ramparts of the Red Fort after unfurling the tricolor, the Prime Minister said that India’s resolve is for effective contribution towards a safe and prosperous world.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached the Red Fort after Rajghat where he was received by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the chiefs of the three services. The Prime Minister unfurled the tricolor and after that flowers were showered at the venue by helicopter. During his address, the Prime Minister first remembered the great men who contributed to the independence of the country and paid tribute to them.
