Auction house Bonhams has said in this regard that the owner of this single action revolver was Sheriff Pat Garrett. The auction of this historic revolver was estimated to be from 2 to 4 million dollars i.e. about 22.04 crores. On Friday, people bid for it over the phone, online and in the room.
The auction house has stated that it is a relic of one of the most important and famous stories of the Wild West.’ He says that this gun is in very good condition and its grip is still good.
Garrett used a 0.44 caliber gun to kill Billy the Kid. His birth name was Henry McCarty. Later he also named himself William Bonnie. The sheriff shot him in the chest on July 14, 1881. He had died at the age of 21.
According to Bonhams, the first gun was auctioned in 2002 for the highest price. This gun was bought by Christie. This flintlock saddle pistol was kept by George Washington during the Revolutionary War. It was auctioned in 2002 for Rs 14.55 crore. These guns were gifted to him by his friend and colleague Marquis de Lafayette.
