Tamil Nadu: 7.5% reservation for government school students in professional courses, CM introduced bill

New Delhi. Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin introduced a bill in the state assembly to provide 7.5 percent reservation to students of government schools in professional courses. The Chief Minister has introduced this bill on Thursday, 26 August.

News agency ANI tweeted that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin introduced a bill in the state assembly to provide 7.5% reservation to students of government schools in professional courses.

Tamil Nadu: Earlier petition was filed regarding reservation in medical admission
Earlier, the Madras High Court had not allowed Tamil Nadu’s 10 per cent reservation in medical and dental courses to be transferred. A petition in this regard was filed by Stalin’s party, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), following which the decision was given by the Madras HC. This petition had brought the Center and the DMK government face to face over the reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in medical and dental colleges.
