New Delhi. National Education Policy: The Government of Karnataka is going to implement the new National Education Policy 2020 from the current academic year 2021-22. The government has issued orders to educational institutions to implement NEP 2020. According to state Higher Education Minister CN Ashwath Narayan, Karnataka will be the first state to implement the National Education Policy.
Further, Narayan has said that the National Education Policy will be implemented as per the guidelines issued by the NEP. On August 7, 2021, State Higher Education Minister CN Ashwath Narayan participated in a meeting regarding the implementation of NEP 2020 in the state. In the meeting, the officials of the State Higher Education Council also discussed the framework for speedy implementation of the National Education Policy 2020. Additional Chief Secretary of Higher Education Kumar Nayak and Vice President of Karnataka Council of Higher Education were also present in the meeting.
National Education Policy: Preparations are going on in other states also
Like Telangana, many states are preparing to implement the National Education Policy. Andhra Pradesh has announced the opening of six new schools for the purpose of implementing the new education policy. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has ordered officials to complete the process by August 16, 2021. Apart from this, 14 engineering colleges have also been established in the country for the purpose of implementing the National Education Policy 2020 and promoting local languages. The colleges have been established by All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE. Colleges have been established in West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu.
National Education Policy: One year has passed for the new education policy
The National Policy on Education, 2020 completed its first anniversary on July 29, 2021. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on this day regarding the National Education Policy 2020. He said that NEP 2020 is one of the most important contribution in nation-building.
