Washington. American pharma company Johnson & Johnson has sought approval for emergency use of single-dose vaccine against Corona in India. If it is approved by the government, then this will be the fourth vaccine, with the help of which the fight against the epidemic is being fought in India. Let us tell you that at present a massive vaccination campaign is being conducted in India with the help of Covaxin, Kovishield and Russian vaccine Sputnik-V. Covaccine, Covishield and Sputnik-V, all three are double-dose vaccines. With their help, more than 49.53 crore doses have been given in a country with a population of about 130 crores. If Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine is approved for emergency use, it will be the first single-dose vaccine to be used in India.
The company had said earlier on Monday that it is committed to bringing its single-dose Kovid-19 vaccine to India and looks forward to the ongoing discussions with the Indian government in this regard. A company spokesperson said in a statement, “Johnson & Johnson Pvt Ltd applied for the EUA of its single-dose COVID-19 vaccine to the Government of India on 5 August 2021.”

The statement said that this is an important milestone that the company’s tie-up with Biologicals E Ltd gives the people of India and the rest of the world a single-dose option of the Kovid-19 vaccine. “Biologicals will be an important part of our global supply chain network, which will help support our Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine supply,” the statement said.
Let us tell you that in a country with a dense population like India, a single-dose vaccine will make it easier to vaccinate more and more people in less time.
