Washington. During her meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US Vice President Kamala Harris has taken “suo motu cognizance” of the connection between Pakistan and terrorism. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla has given this information on Friday. What has been said by the American side about Pakistan and terrorism can be seen as a victory for India. In fact, India is constantly trying to show the international community that the neighboring country is helping terrorism. A day before the meeting with President Joe Biden, there has been a discussion between Harris and PM Modi at the White House.
Asked whether the issue of Pakistan’s role in terrorism came up during Harris’ meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla told reporters, “When the issue of terrorism came up, the Vice President spoke about it (of terrorism). Mentioned the role of Pakistan. According to Shringla, Harris said that terrorist organizations are active in Pakistan.
“Harris asked Pakistan to take action so that it doesn’t affect the security of the US and India (terrorism organizations),” he said. She agreed with the information received from Prime Minister Modi on the issue of cross-border terrorism. They also acknowledged the fact that India has been a victim of terrorism for several decades and Pakistan’s support for such terrorist groups needs to be checked and closely monitored.
Harris said that both countries have an obligation to protect democracy and it is in the best interest of the people of both countries. He said, “Since democracies around the world are in danger, it is imperative that we protect democratic principles and institutions in our respective countries and around the world and certainly make efforts to strengthen democracy in our respective countries.” . Obviously protecting democracy is in the best interest of the citizens of our countries.
The Vice President said that India is a very important partner of America. In history, our nations also worked together and stood together to make our world a safer and stronger world. Harris reiterated that India is a partner in the Indo-Pacific. Like India, America too takes great pride in being a member of the Indo-Pacific, he said.
America is angry with Pakistan
US lawmakers have also expressed opposition to Pakistan’s role in Afghanistan. The MPs had demanded strict action against Islamabad. New Jersey’s Democrat Bob Menendez and Idaho Republican leader James Risch had raised the demand for action against Pakistan’s dual behavior in Afghanistan. The decades-old bilateral ties between Pakistan and the US had cracked after the recent withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
For a long time, the US considered Islamabad to be a mediator in the Taliban, but after the withdrawal of the army, the US is considering it as the reason for the victory of the Taliban. It is being said that Pakistan is continuously interfering in the affairs of Afghanistan. At the same time, the Taliban regime, allegedly the head of Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, is playing the role of mediator between different factions.
