Guwahati. The condition of former Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi is still critical. There was a slight improvement in his health on Sunday morning. Doctors taking care of him have said that the condition of the former chief minister is “extremely critical”. Superintendent of Guwahati Medical College Abhijeet Sharma said that a team of nine doctors is taking care of the senior Congress leader, who has crossed the age of 80 years.

The 84-year-old Congress leader is being treated at the Guwahati Medical College. “The current health condition of Gogoi is very critical and doctors are doing their best,” the doctors said. Assam Health Minister Hemant Biswa Sarma is present at GMCH along with Gogoi’s son Gaurav.
still on ventilator
Gogoi is on ventilator and many of his organs have stopped working. He was on dialysis on Sunday which lasted for six hours. Gogoi, a three-time chief minister of Assam, was admitted to the GMCH on November 2. He was put on ventilator on Saturday night as his condition deteriorated.
Corona happened first
Gogoi was infected with Kovid-19 on 25 August. Gogoi complained of uneasiness in October, after which he was admitted to the ICU of Guwahati Medical College and Hospital. Gogoi, who was three-time Chief Minister of Assam, was discharged from the hospital on October 25 after recovering from Kovid-19. He was given plasma therapy and later his condition remained stable. Gogoi was under the supervision of a team of 9 doctors at his residence. (with PTI input)
