Washington. The Chief of the US Army has made many revelations about former President Donald Trump. US General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that Trump was furious about the trade war. In such a situation, he could declare to wage war with China. So he made two secret phone calls to his Chinese counterpart for fear of a war breaking out.
This information has been given in the Washington Post report. According to the report, the country’s relations with China reached the worst during the tenure of former US President Donald Trump. The situation had worsened so much that top US General Mark Milley feared that Trump might wage war with China in view of his possible defeat in the election.
When was the call made?
According to the report, US General Mark Milley called General Li Zhuocheng of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) four days before the US election i.e. on 30 October 2020 and again on 8 January. On this day Trump’s supporters attacked the US Capitol.
This report is based on a new book named ‘Peril’. It is written by journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa. Both the journalists have claimed that they have written this book after talking to 200 sources. The book is about to launch next week.
What happened in the call?
During the call, US General Mark Milli assured General Li Zhuocheng that America was stable. He is not going to attack China in any way. He also said that if there is any attack, he will alert his counterpart in time.
Trump said – the report is fabricated
However, Trump has cast doubt on the story in a statement, calling it a concoction. He has said that if this story is true then General Miley should be tried for treason. Trump has also said that he never thought of attacking China. At the same time, General Millie’s office has refused to comment on this.
Let us tell you that Trump has threatened China many times during his tenure. Trump had announced an increase in tariffs from 10 per cent to 25 per cent on $200 billion worth of import duties from China. Also, China’s state-owned telecommunications company China Mobile was banned by the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). After this, Trump also warned about the deal. US President Donald Trump had said that the situation could worsen after 2020 if the deal is not resolved soon.
