Washington. US President Joe Biden has said that America is helping many countries including India in every possible way to produce the vaccine. During a press briefing at the White House, Biden said that the US is committed to giving the world half a billion doses of the vaccine. US President Biden said that ‘we are committed to helping more than half a billion doses. Efforts are being made to provide more capacity for countries like India to be able to produce the vaccine itself. We are helping them to do so. They said ‘and we’re trying… well, it’s free. We are not taking anything from anyone. And we are trying to do as much as we can.
On the other hand, the US said on Tuesday that it has sent more than 110 million doses of Kovid 19 vaccines to more than 60 countries, from Afghanistan to Zambia. This information has been given amid an increase in cases of infection in the US, where the highly contagious delta form of the virus has a greater impact.
America will have arsenal of vaccines – Biden
President Joe Biden has promised the US will be the world’s ‘arsenal of vaccines’. The US has donated vaccines on a large scale through a global vaccine program called Covax.
The White House said in a statement on Tuesday that the United States will begin sending 500,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine by the end of August, which it has promised to deliver to 100 low-income countries by June 2022. Biden had promised to send more than 80 million doses overseas by the end of June, but has only been able to ship a portion of it due to logistics and regulatory constraints in recipient countries.
