Ayodhya Verdict: Muslim side said- ‘We respect the decision of the Supreme Court, but not satisfied’

New Delhi. In the Ayodhya case (Ayodhya Land Dispute Verdict), the Supreme Court gave a big decision on Saturday. A five-judge bench headed by CJI Ranjan Gogoi said in the verdict that the disputed land should be given to Ramlala Virajman. At the same time, he decided to give five acres of land to the Sunni Waqf Board anywhere in Ayodhya. On this, Sunni Waqf Board’s lawyer Zafaryab Jilani expressed dissatisfaction. He said, ‘We respect the decision of the Supreme Court. But we are not satisfied with it. We will consider further action regarding this.

Zafaryab Jilani said that if our committee agrees, then we will file a review petition on it. This is our right as well as the rule of the Supreme Court.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Saturday said that it is dissatisfied with the decision to give the disputed land for the temple and will consider filing a review petition in the matter. Board’s secretary and advocate Zafaryab Jilani told reporters, “We are dissatisfied with certain points of the judgment, especially the grant of land. We will consider whether to file a review petition or not.

Regarding giving alternative land of five acres for the mosque, he said that there can be no cost to the mosque. Jilani said that this case is not a victory or defeat of anyone and everyone should maintain peace.

Reading the verdict, CJI Ranjan Gogoi said that it is the job of the government to treat all religions equally. The courts are a secular institution above faith. The statue was placed at midnight in 1949.

CJI said that history is important but law is above all, all the judges have taken the decision by consensus.
