New Delhi. Calicut University: To take admission in the affiliated colleges of Calicut University, students will now have to sign a ‘Declaration Form’, which states that they will neither accept nor give dowry in their marriage. In this regard, the university has also issued an official release to the principals of their affiliated colleges.
A notice issued by the Assistant Registrar, University of Calicut on September 15 stated that “Keeping in view the ever-increasing cases of domestic violence deaths due to dowry, the Chancellor has proposed to prepare a manifesto stating that dowry Not demanding or accepting, directly or indirectly, not inducing to give or take dowry shall be mentioned. Also, the Vice-Chancellor has directed the students and parents to include a declaration received in the attached form at the time of admission.”
Calicut University: The rules will be applicable from this session
The notice states that, “At the time of admission, it is strictly directed to obtain from every student and parent, a declaration regarding not demanding or accepting dowry, giving or receiving dowry directly or indirectly. Is.” The notice also directed those students who have already taken admission during the 2021-22 academic year to obtain the declaration form. This rule will be applicable to all government, aided and self-financed colleges affiliated to the university.
